RoGator 1396

The new RoGator from AGCO features a two-piece constructed drive system. This combines a hydraulic motor and a separate gear reduction hub to help the unit deliver more power to the ground, according to the company. The model, which sports boom lengths of 80 to 120 feet, also features multiple speed ranges to improve productivity. The RoGator 1396 can be equipped with GatorTrek four-wheel steering. This optional feature allows the unit to shrink its 23-foot turning radius to only 13½ feet. The RoGator 1396 was named the 2010 CropLife IRON Product of the Year by readers of CropLife IRON magazine, a Meister publication.

Guardian

The Guardian sprayers from New Holland are designed to take crop protection application to the next level. The rear-boom units are powered with two-wheel mechanical drive and are available with 240- and 270-horsepower engines. Four equal-sized tires help deliver a smoother ride, more precise turning, and less compaction. Tanks that hold up to 1,200 gallons and boom widths of up to 120 feet enable operators to cover more ground in less time. The sprayers also come with a crop clearance of up to four feet, allowing for spraying late into a growing season.

SX275

The heart of the SX275 from Versatile is its MaxTorque two-wheel mechanical drive system. This power-to-the-ground mechanical drive operates at lower RPMs than hydrostatic drives. The unit also features a C-channel frame with bolted cross member flexes so the wheels stay in constant contact with the ground. SX275 machines have the company's ProAction Flex Boom as standard. This boom allows the operator to tilt and/or lock the full length of the boom in place, keeping it parallel with the terrain while maintaining proper distance from the spray tip target.
