Napa Valley Grapegrowers Announce 2009 Grower Of The Year

This year's recipient demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability and the community.

May 14, 2009

The Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG) have announced their Grower of the Year for 2009. Andrew Hoxsey, a fourth generation farmer, was recognized on May 14 at the group’s Annual Dinner in St. Helena.

Hoxsey is one of the nation’s largest organic growers. He is president of Yount Mill Vineyards in Yountville and is also managing partner of the Napa Wine Company. In addition, he chairs the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.
NVG presents this award annually to a Napa grower that demonstrates a commitment to sustainability, leadership in agricultural preservation, and dedication to the community.

“The Napa Valley Grapegrowers is proud to present this award to Andrew Hoxsey,” says NVG president Bruce Phillips. “He personifies the Napa grower, who mindfully tends his winegrapes using the most current information available on sustainable techniques - and always incorporates the natural environment, his workforce, and future generations into his decision making.”
