Florida Ag Officers Score Huge Drug Bust
Two men arrested after more than 900 pounds of synthetic marijuana found among truck’s cargo.

Packages of synthetic marijuana were found among the cargo of a U-Haul truck that was pulled over after not stopping at an agriculture interdiction station.

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) law enforcement officers arrested two men after discovering more than 900 pounds of synthetic marijuana concealed in a small U-Haul Truck.
The suspects were traveling northbound on I-75 in Hamilton County when the driver failed to stop at the Agriculture Inspection Station. Officer Chris McGauley stopped the vehicle for bypassing the station and requested access to the cargo area. Inside the rear cargo area of the U-Haul Officer McGauley discovered several large black garbage bags. When questioned about the contents of the garbage bags, the passenger stated that the black garbage bags contained “stuff.” When asked about the loads origin, the passenger stated that they obtained the contents in Tampa and were in route to Illinois.
Officer McGauley and two other officers accompanied the U-Haul and the two suspects to Inspection Station 9B in Hamilton, County. Upon further inspection, the load was confirmed to contain 29 large black bags filled each filled with several gallon sized bags containing individually packaged “synthetic marijuana.” The bags averaged approximately 5,000 grams each with a retail value of $10.00 per bag. Based on this information, the approximate value of the load is $4,166,000.
The suspects have been booked into the Hamilton County Jail; both were charged with trafficking a controlled substance.
This is the third time in 6 months that FDACS law enforcement has made a sizable narcotics bust at an agricultural interdiction station.
