Webinars To Cover New Food Safety Rules
Offered by the Produce Marketing Association, the series of presentations will address proposed provisions.
Produce Marketing Association’s summaries of the first two proposed rules under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) are now available online.
In addition, PMA will be hosting a series of webinars, including two on Jan. 17:
- 1-2 p.m. EST, 10 Things You Need to Know about the Produce Rule
- 2:15-3:15 p.m. EST, 10 Things You Need to Know about Preventive Controls
Both will be led by PMA’s Chief Science and Technology Officer Dr. Bob Whitaker as he guides participants on key aspects of each rule and answers questions.
These sessions will be followed by two “Ask the FDA” webinars, both slated for Jan. 24:
- 1-2 p.m. EST, FSMA Produce Safety Proposal Webinar – FDA speaker: Samir Assar, director, Produce Safety Staff, FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition
- 2:15-3:15 p.m. EST, FSMA Preventive Controls Human Food Proposal Webinar - FDA speaker: Jenny Scott, senior advisor to the director of the Office of Food Safety, FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
