Watermelon, broccoli, pumpkin, and cantaloupe are some of the latest variety offerings from Sakata Seed America, Inc. Emerald Crown is a medium-maturing, uniform, heavy-headed, domed broccoli with small beads on a small-framed plant. It is suited for growing in warm to cool climates. Emerald Crown is resistant to purpling and produces quality crown cuts/short trim in North America.

An Eastern cantaloupe variety, Avatar, has a medium-open cavity and firm flavorful flesh. The exterior is a light-green color that turns to yellow-tan when fully ripe. These oval-shape melons weigh 7 to 9 pounds. Avatar is ideal for higher latitudes.

Honky Tonk is a 40-count market and jack-o’-lantern-sized pumpkin and weighs 20 to 25 pounds. It has a deeply ribbed, wrinkled appearance with a burnt orange color. Honky Tonk also has a dark-green embedded handle.
Affirmed is a bright red flesh watermelon variety. It has good demarcation and improved dense flesh. This variety is well-suited for all major markets. Affirmed is uniform and has consistent yields of 18 to 20 pounds.
