Baythroid XL Receives Special Florida Label For Asian Citrus Psyllid Control

Bayer CropScience has announced that EPA has granted a 24(c) special local need label for Baythroid XL. The pyrethroid is now approved for Asian citrus psyllid control in Florida citrus. It is a needed rotational option as growers are treating groves more often to keep in front of the pest that vectors HLB.

The approved use rates for the product is 3 to 6.4 fluid ounces, with seasonal maximum application of 6.4 fluid ounces. According to Bayer CropScience, Baythroid XL provides quick knockdown of pests with short reentry and pre-harvest intervals.
