Despite all the time, money, and effort being put forth to come up with a cure for citrus greening, the industry is still waiting, wishing, and hoping. Not being able to just sit idly by and still survive, a vast array of identification and control tactics have become part of the daily routine for grove managers over the last nine-plus years.

During the 2015 Florida Citrus Show, scheduled for Jan. 28-29 at the Havert L. Fenn Center in Ft. Pierce, the entire second day of the two-day event will be dedicated to learning more about how to better live with HLB. Sessions will concentrate on improved insect control tactics as well as promising treatments to reduce or eliminate HLB symptoms, such as thermotherapy, antibiotics, and bactericide application.

In addition to the robust educational program, the annual gathering, presented by Florida Grower in partnership with UF/IFAS and the Indian River Citrus League, will host a complementary trade show featuring scores of suppliers inside and outside the facility offering the latest products, services, and equipment. To top it all off, multiple prize giveaways will be up for grabs among attendees.
