Merivon Fungicide Now Registered For Pome And Stone Fruit In New York

Merivon fungicide from BASF has received registration for use on pome and stone fruit in New York. This fungicide helps to maximize yield potential by offering improved control of key diseases, advanced plant health benefits, and long-lasting disease protection. Pome and stone fruit growers in New York now can use this fungicide to prevent and control a broad spectrum of fruit diseases.

“Merivon fungicide will give pome and stone fruit growers more consistent performance for maximum crop potential,” said Nick Schweizer, product manager, BASF. “The introduction of Merivon fungicide into the New York fruit market creates a new standard of disease control for pome and stone growers.”

BASF field trials have shown Merivon fungicide to control key diseases such as apple scab, powdery mildew, and summer diseases in pome fruit, as well as brown rot in stone fruit.

Merivon fungicide is a 1:1 premix of F500 — the same active ingredient in Pristine fungicide — and Xemium fungicide. Xemium fungicide continuously distributes its chemistry throughout the plant to deliver disease control with extended residual protection.

The combination of active ingredients in Merivon fungicide can also lead to advanced plant health benefits. These include enhanced photosynthesis, which increases energy production in fruit trees and ultimately contributes to increased yield potential.

“Fruit trees that don’t need to fight disease have more energy available to produce healthy blooms. And healthy blooms lead to the opportunity to have higher yields,” said Schweizer.
