POTASSIUM SOURCE Nutri-K from CSI Chemical is a special formulation of potassium and a unique organic complexing agent, T.O.G. This combination provides a high-quality, readily available source of potassium for fruits and vegetables. Because of the high solubility and mobility of Nutri-K, the potassium is immediately absorbed and utilized by the plant’s metabolic system. The T.O.G. ensures the maximum translocation efficiency of the potassium ion to individual cells, tissues, or roots demanding potassium. Nutri-K is an organically complex liquid potassium supplement with superior absorption and translocation. Nutri-K contains no chlorides, nitrates, or sulfates and is a pure solution with a low-salt index. Contact CSI Chemical at 800-247-2480, or go to

KERIAN SIZER The Kerian Sizer gently and accurately sorts products by size and has been proven in a variety of applications including cucumbers, bell peppers, potatoes, and many more. The rugged design provides users with low-maintenance costs and high reliability. The sizer uses a single set of rotating rollers which gradually separate as they gently carry the product along. Product is thus sized accurately and consistently by diameter. The roller spacing is set by a pair of precisely machined screws with varying screw pitch along the sizing length. The extreme accuracy of the roller spacing allows precise separation of any product by a minimum diameter, with quick adjustment possible by sliding divider separating sizes. The sizer is so accurate that it is used to size nuts and small berries and so gentle that it is used to size fresh tomatoes. Contact Kerian Machines Inc. at 701-352-0480, or go to
REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS KOOLJET refrigeration systems are designed based on the specific cooling needs of your application. These systems include rapid cooling, slow cooling, and maintenance cooling. With rapid cooling, produce can be cooled from field temperature to near freezing in under an hour. With slow cooling, produce cooling may only need to occur over the period of a day. With maintenance cooling, produce held in long-term storage may require months of being held at a constant temperature. Once our engineers understand your needs, we can recommend, design, and build the most appropriate system. Contact KoolJet at 1-866-748-7786,

WEIGHING SYSTEM FAIRPICK automates hand-harvesting of fruits and vegetables. Employers assign workers radio-frequency identification (RFID) bracelets or ID cards and specify container tare weight, piece rate wage, batch ID, picking location ID, and tracking ID to weigh entries using FairPick software on a base station tablet. During harvest, the FairPick Weighing Station, an easy-to-transport unit with a National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP)-certified scale, real-time weight display, and receipt printer, gives pickers clear visual and audio instructions. Each picker scans his/her RFID tag at the weighing station to clock in and out and weigh produce. Each worker places the container on the scale, scans his/her RFID tag, and removes the container. The weighing station links each employee’s weight picked with a time stamp, GPS location, and other grower-entered information. Data transfers wirelessly to the base station after harvest each day. Growers can upload data to the 2nd Sight server and access automatically generated, standard, or customized reports online via the FairPick Customer Portal. They can view and download payroll reports in .CSV (Comma Separated Values) format to import payroll information into existing accounting and payroll software. FairPick – A Better Weigh to harvest! SELF-PROPELLED PLATFORM The Brownie Quad 4x4 is a self-propelled work platform with two individual platforms. These platforms have a working height that starts at 20 inches from the ground in the lowest position, allowing pruning, thinning, and picking of the tree at a lower level to overlap ground workers. Each platform has individual controls for vertical and horizontal movement with hand or hand and foot controls located on the right side, including a lever to hydraulically level the platform. All platforms have 6 feet of vertical travel and two models for horizontal: standard from 5-foot-8-inch to 10-foot-8-inch, and narrow from 4-foot-8-inch to 8-foot-8-inch from outside to outside of platform. The platform is powered by a 44 horsepower Kubota turbo diesel engine with a fully hydrostatic drivetrain which can go from 0 to 5 mph and is equipped with an automatic brake when in neutral. The planetary drives on all four wheels can be unlocked for towing with the tow bar. The platform may be utilized year-round for pruning, trellising with available wire pullers and wire unwinders, tree training, hanging pheromones, hand thinning, and picking. With auxiliary hydraulics, it is possible to use hydraulic pruners or run a hydraulically driven air compressor with air pruners. Contact Phil Brown Welding Corp. at 616-784-3046,
ROOTSTOCKS FOWLER Nurseries offers rootstocks for stone fruit growers. Controller 6TM is a newly released, very dwarfing rootstock that works well for peach, nectarine, plum, and apricot. Tree vigor is around 60% of standard with normal fruit size. Precocity suitable for high-density pedestrian orchards. Resistant to root-knot nematodes. Krymsk 5TM and Krymsk 6TM are precocious cherry rootstocks with vigor similar to Gisela 6TM and Gisela 12TM, respectively. Flower densities are lower than densities on Gisela, resulting in more balanced fruit loads with productive varieties. Both rootstocks offer good anchorage as well as tolerance to bacterial canker, wet soils, cold and heat while providing good fruit size. All Krymsk rootstocks were developed in Russia, near the eastern shores of the Black Sea. Contact Fowler Nurseries at 1-800-675-6075,
TRIPOD ORCHARD LADDER Tallman Ladders began from an orchardist in need of lightweight, sturdy tripod orchard ladders. Bob Tallman Sr., constructed a few ladders for his own use in 1953. Neighboring growers saw them and asked him to build some for them, and orders just kept coming in. Bob’s brother, Bill Tallman, joined and together they built tools and dies in the last few months of 1953. The first production run of Tallman Ladders came in 1954. Bob Sr.’s son, also named Bob, grew up working with his father and uncle from the start, and continues to run the business today. He is training his three children (David, Tamera, and Brenda) to one day take over the business. Being a small family owned business our goals remain the same: safety, quality, and affordability. The same basic design is still produced today, although technology has afforded material improvements. Tallman Ladders have earned the reputation of being the best quality and longest-lasting tripod orchard ladders on the market. The current Tallman tripod orchard ladder is built of lightweight tempered aluminum. Each step is braced for maximum safety, and all parts have been interchangeable since 1954. The tripod ladder is available in heights 4-12 feet, 14 feet, and 16 feet. The slip-resistant step is used on all ladder heights. Tallman Ladders feature specially-designed strong top section, rigid steel hinges, and a heavy-duty tempered third leg. We have dealers throughout the country to serve the agricultural markets. BAIT PELLETS ROZOL VOLE BAIT PELLETS a restricted use pesticide packed in 50 pound bags, are a highly palatable and weather-resistant rodenticide designed to control voles (meadow and pine mice) under demanding orchard conditions. Rozol Vole Bait Pellets are made with feed-grade-quality grains, making them more readily accepted and less likely to induce“bait shyness.” Labeled for use in orchards, commercial nurseries, and for border areas and buffer strips adjacent to crops, Rozol Vole Bait Pellets can be broadcast or spot applied two times per year at a rate of 10 pounds per acre. Idaho and Washington now have aerial broadcast use 24(c) labels. Formulated as a weather-resistant, paraffinized pellet, Rozol Vole Bait holds up to rainy, wet conditions before and after snowpack, allowing high-density tree fruit growers to bait and protect trees during melt-offs.
