Cheminova To Distribute Strobilurin Fungicide

Cheminova, Inc. has announced an agreement with BASF under which Cheminova secures sole distribution rights and exclusive use of the Sovran trademark in the U.S.

Effective immediately, Sovran (kresoxim-methyl) fungicide will be marketed and sold in the U.S. exclusively through Cheminova, Inc. A strobilurin fungicide, Sovran controls powdery mildew, Botrytis, and other diseases on crops such as grapes, cucurbit vegetables, pome fruit, and pecans.

According to Cheminova CEO Rico Toft Christensen, “the acquisition of marketing rights to Sovran represents an important step towards Cheminova’s goal of expanding its portfolio of proprietary compounds and combinations for the U.S. crop protection market.” Sovran adds to the Cheminova fungicide offering that also includes Topguard (flutriafol) and Koverall (mancozeb).
