Cornell To Host Spring Grape IPM Meeting

Cornell University will present the Spring Grape IPM Meeting at Standing Stone Vineyards, 9934 Route 414, in Hector, NY, on May 22, at 4 p.m. The meeting will consist of two hours of programs and demonstrations on bird control measures and reminders on personal protective equipment and tractor safety.

This meeting is intended to give growers quick updates on important pest management issues including new materials, new sprayer technology and application techniques, updates on relevant research projects, and more. Cornell researchers Wayne Wilcox, grape disease management plant pathologist; Greg Loeb, entomologist; and Andrew Landers, agricultural engineer, are slated to present information at the event.

There is no cost to the event for members of Finger Lakes Grape Program, there is a $10/person fee for those who are not enrolled in the program and 1.5 pesticide recertification credits will be available for the meeting. An informal barbecue dinner follows the program.
