Florida Looks to Honor its Next Woman of the Year in Agriculture
Women have always played vital roles in the advancement of agriculture. The State of Florida celebrates that fact with its Woman of the Year in Agriculture award. Nominations are now being accepted for Florida’s 2018 Woman of the Year in Agriculture award, which recognizes women who have made outstanding contributions to the state’s farming industry.
The annual honor, which is presented by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) in conjunction with the Florida State Fair Authority, is now celebrating its 34th year and will be presented to a deserving recipient during the 2019 Florida State Fair in Tampa. Last year’s winner was Dr. Martha Roberts.
FDACS is proud to point out that award recipients have come from all parts of the industry, including citrus, cattle, vegetables, timber, row crops, equine, horticulture, tropical fruits, sugarcane, dairy, agricultural journalism, as well as agricultural education and outreach.
