Viticulture and Enology Research Seminar Registration Deadline Nearing
Washington State winegrape growers and wineries must act soon to reserve a seat at the third annual Washington Advancements in Viticulture and Enology (WAVE) seminar on April 4 at the Clore Center in Prosser. The day-long event, sponsored by the Washington State Wine Commission and Washington State University, highlights the latest research and findings supported by the Washington wine industry.
Vineyard research topics include:
- Assessing New Sprayer Technologies
- Irrigating White Winegrape Varieties
- How to Manage Salinity and Sodicity in Vineyard Soil and Irrigation Water
- Is Red Blotch Virus in Washington Vineyards?
Winery research topics include:
- Managing Wine Spoilage in the Cellar
- Understanding and Managing Astringency in Red Wine
- Learning About Smoke Taint
The goal of WAVE is to raise awareness about the value of research among grape growers and wineries. The research seminars have become a valuable venue to discuss current and future research and bring scientists and industry members together. The first two WAVEs have been sell-out events.
The research seminar includes lunch and a wine social hour. Pre-registration for WAVE is required. Register here.
