Real Estate Company Snaps Up Oregon Blueberry Farms

Gladstone Land Corporation announced Monday that it has acquired two farms in Columbia County, OR, totaling 200 acres and 157 cultivated acres, respectively, for $2.6 million.

The properties have water on site and have been farmed for blueberries for decades. In connection with the acquisition, the of McLean, VA, company has entered into a 10-year lease on the properties with a large farming operation that grows blueberries for one of the world’s largest suppliers of berries.

A director at Gladstone, Bill Frisbie, said the company is pleased to add two great farms in Oregon to their portfolio and partner with the existing farmers on a long-term basis.

“Our objective is to be a strategic real estate partner for farmers so they can secure their land for the long haul. We can also provide them with ongoing support in the form of capital for improvements on the property to enhance their farming operations,” he said. “We now own 23 farms across the U.S. that produce a variety of high-value fruits and vegetables.”
