Webinar to Address Using Biological Controls in SWD Management

The Specialty Crops Research Initiative (SCRI) Sustainable Spotted Wing Management team will present a one-hour webinar on Friday, Feb. 23, from 12 to 1 p.m. titled “Good Bugs vs Bad: Using Biological Controls in SWD Management.

This webinar will include an overview of the sustainable spotted wing drosophila (SWD) project, an update on the native biocontrol agents that have been found in surveys at farms from Oregon to Maine, and the latest information on parasitic wasps from Asia.

Presenters include Hannah Burrack, Heather Leach of Michigan State University Entomology, Kent Daane of University of California Cooperative Extension, and Kim Hoelmer of USDA’s Agricultural Research Service.
