A heavy duty bed shaper/layer from Holland Transplanter Co. lays plastic mulch and makes a bed all in one pass. Model 1235 features large curved wings with replaceable cutting blades that gather soil and roll it together.
Rear adjustable wings firm and shape planting width of the bed. The plastic mulch is rolled out on the bed and the the edges drop into the groove made by a 14-inch disk. Large rubber tires then press the plastic in place, and large rear wings cover the mulch edges. Adjustable top links on the rear pan provide the firmness that growers need.
A welded steel tubular frame assures long, trouble-free service. Standard bed widths are available in the following sizes: 24, 28, 32, and 36 inches with heights of 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 inches.
The heavy duty unit is available in single or multi-row versions with fertilizer attachment, drip tape, and mulch layer, or with just a stand-alone bed shaper. According to the company, its machines can be customized to handle specific grower requirements.
