Scarlet Wonder
Scarlet Wonder is a Kintoki-type carrot whose skin and core are bright scarlet. It is very sweet and tender, maturing 120 days after sowing. Scarlet Wonder is between 12 and 14 inches in length and approximately 1.5 inches in diameter. Recommended harvest season is fall to winter. Available from American Takii.

Royal Cross
Royal Cross is a very productive hybrid Kuroda-type with attractive smooth skin. Vivid reddish-orange both inside and out, with a small core. Matures 110 days after sowing, good for fall to early spring harvest. Intermediate resistance to Alertnaria leaf blight. Available from American Takii.

Fire Wedge
Fire Wedge is a very high yielding hybrid Kuroda-type. Its excellent color, both internal and external, makes it ideal for both fresh and processing markets. Matures 120 days after sowing, good for fall to early spring harvest. Intermediate resistance to Alternaria leaf blight, resists cracking. Available from American Takii.

Goldfinger
This early Nantes type carrot has an orange color and a sweet flavor. It features strong and upright tops, uniform roots with improved quality, early maturity and a high yield potential. Available from Harris Moran.

Adelaide Carrot
Adelaide is a true baby carrot. Unlike most “baby carrots” harvested at an immature stage before properly filling out, Adelaide has an early maturity and forms a blunt root tip at 3 to 4 inches long. Yellow Sun
Yellow Sun features beautiful, 6 to 7 inch yellow roots with broad shoulders, a well-filled, blunt tip, and medium-tall tops. Its complex flavor is best when cooked. Note: Spring sown carrots are susceptible to bolting during cold weather periods. Plant in summer for fall or winter harvest in areas where variable spring weather is a factor. Samantha is a Berlicum/Imperator-type hybrid. It has mid-early maturity and medium-orange color with sweet flavor. This variety has medium to strong top attachment, with roots that are smooth. Berlin
Berlin produces large, bulky and cylindrical roots that are excellent for early cellos or harvested later as jumbos. Dark orange roots are well suited to slicing or sticks. Matures in 90 days. Available from Seedway.

Atomic Red
Atomic Red is 8 inches by 1.5 inches long with tapered bright red roots. It is high in Lypocene, a precursor to beta carotene, which is said to be a preventative of several types of cancer.
