2016 Production Recommendations For Melons Available

The 2016 Mid-Atlantic Commercial Vegetable Production Recommendations for muskmelons and mixed melons is now available.

The full manual, containing recommendations specific to New Jersey, can be found on the Rutgers NJAES website in the Publications section njaes.rutgers.edu.

The recommendations cover a variety of melon types, including honeydews, and muskmelons, and other specialty varieties.

Covered in the recommendations are soil and nutrient management, seed treatment, plant production, pollination, harvest and postharvest considerations.

The guide also provides details on numerous insect pests and disease issues. Information is offered on control options to handle various pest problems.
