Biocontrols 2015: Exhibition Sneak Preview

Forty-two exhibitors will educate attendees about their products and services at next week’s Biocontrols 2015 Conference & Tradeshow in Fresno, CA. Here is a glimpse at some of the companies and products that growers and pest control advisers will be learning about on the tradeshow floor.

Adjuvants Plus Inc.

Adjuvants Plus, which creates and patents or licenses novel products for use in agriculture and horticulture, will be featuring a few products at Biocontrols 2015. C-Wet microencapsulated adjuvant is used in a tank mix or in the formulation with dry biostimulants or biopesticides. EndoFine and EndoFine Express are used for improvement of crop growth and yield. DONguard (in registration) is used for the prevention of fusarium head blight of cereals, and has shown promising results in research.

AgBiome is a venture-backed agricultural discovery company based in Research Triangle Park, NC. The company uses its proprietary Genesis platform to collect, isolate, analyze, and test microbes for use as biological products and as sources of trait genes. AgBiome engages in multiple partnerships to gain access to seed and crop protection markets for its novel products, building long-term value for its owners.

BioSafe Systems

BioSafe Systems is a developer and marketer of crop protection, water treatment and post-harvest solutions. Founded on a field-to-fork approach, it provides environmentally responsible chemistries to all facets of the agricultural production process. BioSafe Systems recently introduced a new soil treatment program which includes its TerraClean 5.0 bactericide/fungicide and TerraGrow beneficial microbial formula.

Growth Products

Companion Liquid Biological, manufactured by Growth Products, contains the exclusive GB03 strain of Bacillus subtilis, a naturally occurring beneficial microbe that controls and suppresses a wide range of foliar and soil-borne plant diseases such as powdery mildew, leaf blight, rust, damping off, dollar spot, and more.

Companion has multiple modes of action. GB03 produces a broad-spectrum antibiotic that disrupts pathogen cell-wall formation, and it stimulates a plant’s natural immune system (ISR). A competitive and fast-colonizing rhizobacterium, GB03 also crowds out pathogens to prevent their growth and antagonistic effects. It is used as a stand-alone treatment and also in combination with other fungicides creating a synergistic affect, while reducing the opportunity for disease resistance with conventional fungicides.

Marrone Bio Innovations

Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. is a leading provider of bio-based pest management and plant health products for the agriculture, turf and ornamental markets. The company’s effective and environmentally responsible solutions help customers operate more sustainably while controlling pests, improving plant health, and increasing crop yields. Marrone Bio Innovations has a proprietary discovery process, a rapid development platform, and a robust pipeline of pest management and plant health product candidates.

mOasis uses advanced, proprietary chemistry to develop a non-toxic, next-generation technology, called Aquamers, which allows growers to optimize water resources for maximized crop yields as well as water and nutrient conservation.

The first of mOasis’ products, BountiGel, is proprietary and validated through testing by leading universities and commercial growers. Scalable for global commercialization, BountiGel is commercial, with introduction in California, the Southwest U.S., and Mexico in 2014, and adoption in 2015.

mOasis is exploring water management applications beyond traditional crops, such as seed treatments, nutrient management, and municipal and consumer applications. The company’s vision is to promote economic and environmental sustainability anywhere water is used globally.

Oro Agri

Oroboost is a foliar-applied adjuvant that provides superior spreading, wetting and penetration of pesticide applications. Oroboost is registered for use in organic farming by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Its combination of plant-derived extracts and wetting agents provides a unique mode of action that boosts the efficacy of insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and foliar nutrients.

Oro Agri, Inc. is part of the Oro Agri Group which develops innovative, biorational products using its patented Orowet technology for agricultural, turf and ornamental applications worldwide.

Parry America

Parry American’s Neemazal range of products is marketed in 41 countries. Neemazal is a broad-spectrum eco-friendly botanical insecticide and acaricide for control of insect pests on all agricultural food crops, greenhouses, nurseries, indoor and outdoor ornamental plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns, golf courses, fruits and vegetables.

Phyllom BioProducts

Phyllom BioProducts (Phyllom)’s new bio-insecticides grubGONE!, beetleGONE! and boreGONE! protect the beauty, health and value of forests, farms and landscapes from beetle, weevil and grub attacks without harm to bees and non-targets. Phyllom’s grubGONE!, beetleGONE! and boreGONE! control beetle pests on turf, ornamentals, trees, agricultural crops and in poultry houses. These products provide effective and consistent control of target beetles and are a new mode of action for resistance management. There are no label restrictions regarding bees or flowing plants or MRL worries. The PHI is 0 day for all crops, and the REI is 0 hour.

Water Right Technologies (WRT)

With more than 40 years farming experience, WRT has been helping farmers restore life to the soil, and crops, and nutrition to the food. WRT provides customized, effective, and sustainable solutions and quality, tested products that improve plant health.

WRT’s Bio-S.I.  products do not replace fertilizers or chemicals. Bio-S.I. helps protect plants from disease by out-competing the pathogenic microbes for space and food. When using Bio-S.I. Agriculture Formula as part of a normal fertilizer program, over time growers will be able to reduce the amounts of chemicals and fertilizer they use.
