Florida Farm Bureau Marks 75 Years Of Honor And Leadership

The Florida Farm Bureau celebrated a major milestone during its Annual Meeting held last week in Orlando. Commemorating 75 years, the organization gathered and welcomed more than 500 members and guests to recognize outstanding accomplishments over the past year, honor the state’s ag environmental leaders, as well as elect the Bureau’s vice president.

Delegates unanimously re-elected Brant Schirard as Vice President of the organization. First elected as Florida Farm Bureau VP in 2010, Schirard, who is a St. Lucie County citrus grower and a third generation farmer, will now begin his fourth consecutive term.

The vote was taken during a general session. Delegates represent all areas of the state as well as a cross-section of Florida’s agricultural producers.

According to Florida Farm Bureau, it is the state’s largest agricultural organization with 144,000 members.
