New Broad-Spectrum Soil Fumigant Now Available

In response to ever-increasing demands for new and improved soil fumigation solutions to replace methyl bromide, Arkema Inc. has introduced its new broad-spectrum Paladin soil fumigant to fruit and vegetable growers throughout the U.S.
Already in use around the globe for a variety of fruits and vegetables, Paladin-based soil fumigation programs have demonstrated consistent performance, enabling marketable yields that are comparable to methyl bromide treatment at a distinctly lower cost to the grower.
Paladin soil fumigant provides excellent control over soilborne diseases, weeds, and nematodes. Since 2004, more than 250 field trials have been carried out to assess and confirm the new product’s efficacy and crop safety. Available for shank and drip applications, this next-generation treatment technology is based on dimethyl disulfide, a substance derived from sulfur and naturally present in the environment. The product is registered with the EPA as a restricted-use pesticide to be used only by certified applicators on tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucurbits, squash, melons, blueberries, strawberries, field-grown ornamentals, and forestry nursery crops.
