Air-Assisted Sprayers

Electrostatic Spraying Systems
now manufactures boom sprayers using the MaxCharge system for a wide variety of crops. The newest and most powerful models are the K-450 series, which takes the place of the company’s previous 88A models. These newly modeled sprayers produce electrically charged spray droplets that are carried onto the plant canopy in a high-speed air stream. The charged droplets seek out plant material by electrostatic forces, resulting in uniform spray coverage. The high-flow MaxCharge electrostatic nozzles are capable of higher liquid flow rates and increased air-assist power for penetration into dense canopy crops. One tank can cover 30 acres or more. The K-450 series is available with 40 to 72 nozzles on booms from 36 to 66 feet in length.

Jacto’s Falcon Vortex tractor mounted sprayer with a 46-foot boom, and the Advance Vortex 3000 trailed sprayer with a 60-foot boom are now available. The Falcon Vortex air assist boom sprayer is a three-point hitch, 160-gallon-capacity boom sprayer. The Advance Vortex air-assist boom sprayer is trailer-mounted and has an 800-gallon capacity. Both units displace air around a crop with the spray solution suspended in high-speed vortex air.

John Bean‘s Model 5115 CPD Speed Sprayer has a 500-gallon stainless-steel tank whose unique mechanical agitation operates as long as the engine is running. There is also a stainless steel chemical pre-mix basket in the tank neck. The axial flow eight-bladed fan is constructed of high strength reinforced fiberglass polyamide. Vanes are placed to straighten air and increase volume in 45° area of air pattern. The 5115 is powered by a John Deere Tier 2 4045T, 275 cubic inch (4.5 liter) in-line 4 cylinder diesel, 115 HP that comes with a 2-year warranty.
