FoxBarry Cos. LLC President Barry Brautman remains optimistic despite a recent meeting with Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman, who has said the operation would be illegal. If this proposed facility is allowed to proceed it will likely set the stage for similar tribal investments throughout California.

Brautman acknowledged the concerns and misconceptions people may have with the new endeavor, ranging from legality to water usage. FoxBarry has announced plans to open an office in Ukiah.

Foxbarry is “committed to creating economic opportunities for our tribal partners,” according to its website.

The website also states that more than 100 tribes have already reached out to FoxBarry Farms concerning its marijuana plans. Until now, FoxBarry is headquartered in Kansas and has concentrated much of its efforts on casino development.
