Nunhems’ watermelon team is introducing to the U.S. market the variety Premium at the National Watermelon Convention, which will conclude Feb. 23 in Savannah, GA. Premium has been a fast-growing variety in the European market and, according to Nunhems, there is great potential for it to have the same success in the U.S.

An “innovative” pollinizer, some of Premium’s attributes include improved sustainability and higher profitability to the grower. Instead of leaving the pollinator fruit in the field due to quality issues, growers can harvest Premium as marketable watermelon. This unique pollinator has smaller edible seeds, great flavor, and excellent shipping ability.
