Acramite 50WS miticide (bifenazate) is labeled for use on cucurbits, fruiting vegetables, strawberries, and okra.

• The Vydate (oxamyl) label has added nematode and leafminer suppression via drip or soil injection to cucurbits, eggplant, tomatoes, and peppers.

• DuPont received an Experimental Use Permit (EUP) for Coragen (rynaxypyr) The EUP includes trials on celery, cucumbers, lettuce, peppers, spinach, squash, tomatoes, and watermelons for  control of leafminer and worm pests. EPA registration is anticipated this year.

• The Brigade 2EC (bifenthrin) label has been expanded to include succulent peas and beans, brassicas, cucurbits, eggplant, head lettuce, artichoke, peppers, tomatoes, spinach, okra, cilantro and coriander, dried beans and peas, leafy brassicas, tuberous and corm vegetables, including potatoes and sweet potatoes. Brigade 2EC is not registered for use in California.

Capture LFR (bifenthrin) has been approved for use on potatoes.

Hero EC (zeta-cypermethrin, bifenthrin) received approval for uses in sweet corn, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, head lettuce, head and stem brassicas, succulent peas, and beans.

• Crops added to the Mustang Max (zeta-cypermethrin) label include potatoes and cucurbit vegetables.

• Two new products slated for use by vegetable growers include Durivo and Voliam Xpress. Both products are based on the active ingredient rynaxypyr and are not yet EPA registered.

• The labels for Actara and Platinum, both with the active ingredients thiamethoxam, now allow higher application rates and use on additional vegetable crops. The label extension for Actara in California and Florida allows growers to use the product leafy and brassica vegetables. For Platinum, leafy vegetables and brassica crops have been added to the label. Label expansions for Platinum were approved by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation and the Florida Department of Agriculture.

• The label for Knack (pyriproxyfen), an insect growth regulator, was expanded to include all Western states.

Danitol 2.4 EC spray (fenpropathrin) was registered in California on fruiting vegetables and succulent peas. Registration is pending for New York.

Esteem 0.86 (pyriproxyfen), an insect growth regulator, was registered in California on strawberries, onions, and legumes last year.

Venom (dinotefuran) received registration for use on head and stem brassica, fruiting vegetables, cucurbits, and leafy vegetables.

Zeal (etoxazole), a miticide, received registration for use on melons and other crops (excluding California and New York where registration is pending).
