Arysta LifeScience to Be Sold in Billion-Dollar Deal

West Palm Beach, FL-based Platform Specialty Products Corp. announced it has agreed to sell Arysta LifeScience, its Agricultural Solutions segment, to crop protection supplier and producer UPL Corporation Ltd. The deal, which is reported to beĀ $4.2 billion all-cash, will create what is expected to become the fifth largest crop protection company in the world.

Together, UPL and Arysta will form a new company with complete offerings in a wide range of crops. The transaction is slated to close in late 2018 or early 2019.

In recent years, Arysta has grown through a series of complementary acquisitions, doubling the peak sales value potential of its R&D pipeline, and focusing the business on high value specialty applications. In addition, Arysta and its product Micromite has been a sponsor of the Florida Grower Citrus Achievement Award for a number of years.
