New Jersey Grower Hit With Peach Heist

A New Jersey peach grower says he was a victim of a large fresh peach theft. Tom Holtzhauser of Holtzhauser Farms in Mullica Hill, NJ, told NJ.com about 800 pounds of white peaches were picked off trees on his 144-acre farm. Holtzhauser estimates the theft was worth about $1,000.

“There was not one peach on any tree,” Holtzhauser told the website. “They stripped every tree clean. Big ones, small ones. Ready ones, not ready ones.”

He says whoever stole the peaches did not leave any trash or tracks. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help defray the loss Holtzhauser experienced.

“Whoever did it knew what they were looking for,” he told the website. “It was definitely an organized group. It would have taken four of my men an hour and a half to get what was gone.”
