‘Super Cold’ Winter, Sizzling Summer On Tap In 2015 Farmer’s Almanac

If you like really cold weather, and/or are a fan of the hot stuff, then next year is shaping up to deliver in kind, according to the latest edition of “The Old Farmer’s Almanac.”

Published since 1792, the climatic reference book has a remarkably accurate forecast rate (about 80%) during its run.

The 2015 edition of the Almanac, which was published earlier this week, features several notable takeaways:

  • Prepare for a “super-cold” winter in the eastern two-thirds of the country.
  • Summer will be warmer than usual in most places.
  • Reduced rainfall in the country’s midsection could hurt crop yields.
  • California’s drought will likely continue.
  • Florida’s winter could be rainier than most years.
  • Expect a below-average hurricane season though a major storm could hit the Gulf Coast in late August.
