The next United Fresh Convention & Expo will take place in San Diego on Jun 16 to 18, 2020. This marks the beginning of a new four-year city cycle for the industry event.

For the past several years. the produce industry event took place at Chicago’s McCormick Center. For at least the next four years, the event will not return to the Windy City. Three out of the four years will take place in California. Here’s the lineup:

“Chicago has been good to us,” United Fresh President & CEO Tom Stenzel said in a press release on the move. “But the time has come for us to broaden opportunities across the industry by taking the show on the road. After next year, we’ll also be moving back into our traditional late Spring timetable to enhance our attendee experience.”

The trade show itself will largely remain in its current format, which includes some innovations added this year. Those included a new Partner X-Change (one-on-one meetings allowing new retail and foodservice operators to present new products, pitch new programs and develop new relationships), a late-night party at a popular Chicago club, and an Eats tradeshow floor lunch area that offered food well above the quality of usual trade show fare.
