Robert Larose, co-founder and CEO of BioSafe Systems, passed away on Sept. 25 at the age of 64.
Larose founded the company with his father, Rene, in the basement of his hometown of Glastonbury, CT. The headquarters was later moved to East Hartford, CT. Rob was proud of the “family-centric heritage and atmosphere” of BioSafe. His family continues to work at BioSafe, along with many other relatives and friends.
It was Rob’s ambition to expand to the West Coast, build and develop three manufacturing sites across the country, and explore opportunities in modern markets. Rob learned from every defeat, which led to BioSafe Systems’ current success.
“We’re truly saddened to hear about Rob’s passing,” said Richard Jones, Corporate Content Director for Meister Media Worldwide. “Rob and his whole team at BioSafe have been incredibly helpful to us and our grower audiences at Meister over the last decade. He’s been a knowledgeable resource about biologicals and so many other areas for the entire industry. He will be missed.”
Rob’s daughter, Lauren Larose Crane, will step in as President of BioSafe Systems. She has directed the Operations Department for the last 10 years, ensuring optimum efficiency of daily operations and supported by a strong management team.

Rob loved working with his people. He enjoyed giving people chances and opportunities to grow. He was known as a father to all and the “captain of the ship.” Rob took a personal interest in everyone at his company and always took time to check in with his employees. He listened to their stories and shared some of his own.
Rob cherished his role as a grandfather. His granddaughters, Emma and Ava, were often seen running through the office halls. They came into their Papi’s office to visit, hide under the desk, and search for treats. The played pirates and Uno together, and rode around Papi’s property in his gator.
In his free time, Rob enjoyed chopping wood on his property, clearing trails through the woods, and spending time with his dogs. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife of 41 years, Mary Ann (Nemeth) Larose.
In addition to his wife, Rob leaves behind three children: Michael Larose of South Windsor, Lauren Crane and her husband Justin of Simsbury, and Matthew Larose of Manchester.
