The Florida Blueberry Growers Association (FBGA) has announced Ryan Atwood as the new President of its Board of Directors. A first-generation blueberry grower, agricultural consultant, and past FBGA President, Atwood brings extensive experience in commercial blueberry production, agricultural research, crop nutrition, and industry leadership.
Ryan operates AtwoodAG, an independent agricultural consulting business serving blueberry growers throughout Florida. He also maintains ownership interests in H&A Farms and Amber Brooke Farms in Central Florida.
Ryan previously served as a UF/IFAS Extension agent before transitioning into commercial blueberry production and agricultural consulting. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida and is a graduate of both the UF/IFAS Wedgworth Leadership Institute and the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association’s Emerging Leader Development Program. He was also recognized as Florida’s Certified Crop Adviser of the Year in 2015.
Beyond his involvement in the blueberry industry, Atwood serves on the Governing Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District, bringing an agricultural perspective to water resource management and conservation issues affecting Central and North Florida.
Atwood’s priorities include supporting practical research and education, advancing mechanization and risk management, strengthening industry partnerships, and developing the next generation of agricultural leaders.
