Labor of Love: How Do You Compare with Peers on Ag Worker Benefits?

Let’s start with the basics — offering any benefits at all. We compared how many people took the survey for each farm-size group to how many people answered our question about benefits. It’s no surprise that size plays a role in an operation’s ability to offer benefits.

In a world where minimum-wage jobs come with a lot of benefits growers can’t always offer, like flexible hours and air conditioning, the benefits you do offer become more important.

The most desirable benefits for workers, according to Forbes, are:

Employer-covered health insurance
Life insurance
Retirement plans or pension
Mandatory paid time off
Mental health assistance
