Lake Ridge Fruit To Build $3M Expansion In New York

Lake Ridge Fruit will break ground as soon as next week on a $3 million controlled-atmosphere storage building in Gaines, NY. The 25,200-square-foot project will boost the apple storage capacity by 200,000 bushels a year.

“This is driven by the need to stay ahead of the curve and be at the leading edge of the industry,” John Russell, general manager and partner for the company, told the Orleans Hub.

The new packinghouse is expected to be completed in time for this year’s fall harvest.
