Survey: Fruit and Nut Growers Are Using a Wide Range of Biocontrols

Each year, American Fruit Grower® and Western Fruit Grower® magazines survey the nation’s fruit and nut growers — as well as industry suppliers and farm advisers — about a number of topics.

The chart below shows exactly which types of biocontrols growers are applying, and it’s interesting how evenly spread the growers’ responses were to this question.

Note: The majority of the 15% of the growers indicating “Other” specified they employed some form of mating disruption, often pheromone puffers.
