Bakersfield-based Grimmway Farms will be sold to an Indiana farming firm, Teays River Investments, LLC, the Bakersfield Californian reported.
The paper reported earlier in the year that the large organic vegetable grower, renowned for its carrots, was seeking a buyer.
Teays River Investments, LLC, helmed by Richard H. Halderman, keeps a low profile, with little information listed on its website. It does emphasize that its an investment firm interested in supporting sustainable practices.
“We create agricultural systems that reduce waste and misalignments, improving the stewardship of our natural resources and the quality, safety, and traceability of our products.”
Expect no changes, Grimmway told the Bakersfield Californian. Current management and the headquarters will remain.
