Pero Family Farms At A Glance
Owners: Pero is a family run operation. At the helm are five siblings: Peter Pero IV, chief executive officer; Angela Pero-Mirusso, president; Frank Pero, vice president; Charles Pero, vice president and director of farm operations; and Christine Pero, head of human resources.
Acreage and Crops: Using both conventional and organic production practices, 19,000 acres are used to grow beans, cucumbers, peppers, squash, and other vegetables. The farm is certified under the California Certified Organic Farmers, and part of the plan is to increase the number of organic acres in the future.
Locations: Headquarters in Delray Beach, FL; two fresh-cut facilities and five distribution locations in Michigan, New York, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania. The Peros are currently looking in California to possibly add a sixth distribution location.
