There is more than one way to prepare your fields and plant crops. However, the preferred methods usually involve doing those necessary tasks as efficiently and effectively as possible. Here are a few equipment options from Mechanical Transplanter Co. designed to do just that.

Model 92 Bed Shaper/Mulch Layer

The Model 92 Bed Shaper/Mulch Layer was created as a lower cost bed shaper/mulch layer machine. The Model 92 will create a four-inch high bed. Growers can use either four-foot mulch for a 24-inch-wide bed or three-foot film for an 18-inch-wide bed. Optional features include a drip attachment for laying tape as well as a plastic cutting system. The Model 92 also can be used for flat ground.

Model 912 and 912T

Mechanical Transplanter Co. has expanded its line of plastic mulch equipment with the Model 912 and 912T mulch transplanters. The Model 912 is a new single-row transplanter for setting greenhouse cells into plastic mulch. The Model 912T is a twin-row transplanter for double row transplanting in plastic mulch. The Model 912 and 912T are capable of setting plants as close as 10 inches in the row. Both units also are capable of setting plants on either flat ground or raised beds. The use of a separate gauge wheel drive system allows for accurate spacings and depth control. Operators sit in an upright, comfortable working position while their hands stay out of the soil and water. Water valve systems also are available for these transplanters.
