Looking For A Winner

What is the common link among Alstede Farms, Hansen Farms, and Lewis Taylor Farms? Other than each one is an outstanding grower, these farms are the recipients of the 2010, 2009, and 2008 Grower Achievement Award, respectively.

The award program, which is entering its tenth year, seeks out operations that are going above and beyond. Other criteria used to determine the recipient of the Grower Achievement Award include the use of innovative production techniques, a commitment to food safety, the implementation of the latest technology, industry leadership, and support of the local community.

Are you a grower using the latest technology, or have you implemented an innovative production practice? If so, we want to hear from you. Are you on the front lines fighting for important industry issues? We want to hear from you, as well.

This year’s winner will be announced in the September issue of American Vegetable Grower. A trophy presentation will be made at the United Fresh Public Policy Conference that is slated to be held Oct. 3-5 in Washington, DC.
