Brandt/Monterey has expanding its operations with the acquisition of a 96,000 square foot facility to produce organic agricultural nutrients to meet the increasing demand for organic products. The Fresno, CA-based facility, located at Wawona and Willow Avenues adjacent to Brandt/Monterey’s existing building, is expected to be fully operational by the middle of November.
“The demand for organic products has been rising in recent years, and we needed to have a facility dedicated to producing nutrients and organic inputs,” says John Salmonson, president and CEO of Brandt/Monterey. “In addition, we’ll be developing new organic products for the future as this market continues to grow.”
Separating organic facilities from conventional production facilities lessens the potential for cross-contamination. In addition to producing Monterey Ag organic products, the new facility will also provide custom manufacturing and packaging for a number of other companies offering organic products in the western U.S. market. Brandt/Monterey will be hiring new employees to work in the building, but an exact number hasn’t been determined as of yet.
