Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) law enforcement officers arrested a Miami trucker after discovering more than 200 pounds of marijuana concealed in his truck.

The suspect was traveling on Highway 41 in Columbia County when he stopped at the Agriculture Inspection Station. An officer asked for the driver’s bill of lading for any cargo he was transporting. He indicated his black semi trailer was empty.

The officer requested permission to inspect the trailer and discovered four cardboard boxes inside. Inside the four boxes, the officer found 203.5 pounds of cannabis concealed in 20 rectangular packages.

The driver was charged with trafficking in cannabis more than 25 pounds and use of a commercial vehicle in the commission of a felony.
