Tropicana Tabs Its Top Growers

Bradenton-based Tropicana Products Inc. recently announced its 2010-2011 Growers of the Year. The company awards this honor to its top growers who meet stringent variety, load, and juice-quality requirements, and who are active members of the citrus industry and respective communities.

Those operations singled out include:

• Consolidated Citrus (Fort Myers)
• SMR Farms (Bradenton)
• Sungrown Citrus (Ft. Meade)
• Sunny South Packing (Arcadia)

The awards are based on a variety of objective criteria related primarily to fruit quality and growing and harvesting practices.
