On Dec. 8, the Alliance for Food and Farming’s Instagram account (@safeproduce) is getting taken over. But, it’s a good thing.

It’s all part of the industry organization’s mission to deliver credible information about the safety of produce. This year’s “takeover” will feature Alison Grooms from Fancy Farms, a second-generation operation that grows strawberries in Plant City, FL. Grooms will be sharing photos and videos that show how strawberries in Florida are planted, nurtured, harvested, and shipped to consumers. The takeover also will feature a look at the Fancy Farms Market where locals enjoy the farm’s strawberries and seasonal desserts.

The Alliance for Food and Farming acknowledges how important it is to tell the story of agriculture and the vital role it plays. “While we sometimes take for granted the hard work that farmers put in every day to provide us with fresh produce, giving Alison the keys to our Instagram channel will help highlight the work of farmers that grow our favorite fruits and veggies.”
