FMC Agricultural Products has expanded the label for Beleaf insecticide to include low-growing berries and strawberries. This label addition provides California growers with another insecticide option in their arsenal.

“Beleaf offers growers a flexible and fast-acting insecticide for their strawberry crop,” said David Davies, FMC Agricultural Products North America product manager. “It’s soft on beneficial insects and extremely effective on piercing and sucking pests.”

The active ingredient of Beleaf (flonicamid) has translaminar activity, which controls pests on contact and ingestion. The product is said to stop insects from feeding within 30 minutes after application, according to FMC.

“Beleaf insecticide offers a new mode of action that specifically targets Lygus and aphids in strawberries,” said Mac Learned, FMC Agricultural Products North America regional technical sales lead. “Beleaf is an excellent tool for managing insect resistance.”
