Colorado Horticulture Associations Team Up For Three-Day Conference

The Western Colorado Horticulture Society will host their annual conference with the Colorado Association of Viticulture Enology on Jan. 14-16. The three-day event boasts workshops, speakers, tours, and social events.

The Western Colorado Horticultural Society (WCHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the future development of agriculture in Western Colorado through the association and combined efforts of its members. Membership is open to anyone interested in the advancement of horticulture and includes admission to WCHS and VinCO Annual Conference.

An all-day wine making seminar by Stephen Menke will be held Jan. 13 prior to the opening of the annual conference.

Orchard and vineyard tours will be held on Jan. 14 as well as seminars on the economics of wine, advanced wine making techniques, and wine structure and blending.

On Jan. 15, the conference will offer seminars on energy efficient design, improved orchard systems, the future of farms and the farm bill, sheep grazing practices in the vineyard and orchard, alternative peach rootstocks, and agritourism.
