Precision Irrigation Helping Organic Produce Growers Break New Ground [Video]

In a newly launched video series, USDA’s National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Chief Aubrey J.D. Bettencourt is “Dishin’ the Dirt” on how the government agency empowers America’s farmers to make critical investments in their operations and local communities. The latest episode features Bettencourt digging into how financial and technical assistance from NRCS is helping Mathew and Nina Ladegaard of Ground Stone Farm in New Mexico modernize a nearby acequia to deliver key water resources via precision irrigation to their high tunnel crops.

The precision irrigation practice is paying off in efficient water and nutrient delivery for healthy plant growth and higher yields.
