Brandt Racks Up The Honors

For the fourth time, Brandt has been named to Inc. Magazine’s  Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list provides a comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs—and ranked Brandt number 3295 among the 5000 companies profiled.

“I am incredibly proud that our team once again made Inc.’s prestigious list of growing companies,” said Rick Brandt, President and CEO of Brandt. “What an accomplishment! If you really are measured by the company you keep, we’re in some pretty good company.

“My father and my aunt founded this company 59 years ago with one single goal: Growth,” continued Brandt. “And as we get ready to celebrate our 60th Anniversary, we continue to achieve that goal. In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2012 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 97%. The companies on this year’s list report having created over 400,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $299 billion.

In addition, Brandt Monterey was recently presented with the Western Plant Health Association’s highly regarded Harry J. Larsen Integrity Award at the association’s annual meeting.

The honor is bestowed on individuals and companies in the agricultural community that have excelled in community service through public outreach programs, charitable donations and community causes.

The award was presented to Jim Tuttle, Vice President of Sales at Brandt Monterey, by WPHA Board Chairman Ron Naven. “We are deeply honored to receive the WPHA Integrity award,” said Tuttle. “We try to give back to the community and support charitable organizations as much as we can. It means a lot to be recognized by our peers for our efforts.”

Naven pointed out that Brandt Monterey has donated generously to organizations such as the ALS Society, the MS Society, the Community Food Bank, the American Cancer Association and many other charities. The company was also recognized as serving on many industry boards and public advisory committees on behalf of agriculture.

“We are extremely proud to present this award to a company this year that truly reflects the values and ideas inherent in the Harry Larsen Integrity Award,” Naven said following the presentation. “It is through companies like Brandt Monterey that the agricultural industry is able to thrive and give back to their communities.”

Brandt Monterey, formerly Monterey AgResources, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of agricultural specialty products. With operations that date to 1963, the company is now part of Brandt’s Specialty Formulations business. Brandt, a global agriculture company founded in 1953, provides growers with new technologies and innovative processes that help bring greater control against the uncertainties of nature.
