According to FFVA chairman Drew Duda, Bronson led the department with a steady hand during challenging times. “Commissioner Bronson has presided over the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services during some of our industry’s toughest challenges, including citrus canker, the hurricanes of 2004 and 2005, citrus greening, and last winter’s disastrous freeze,” he said. “He has been aggressive in making sure we get the resources we need when we have needed them -– whether it’s hurricane disaster relief or funding for specialty crops in the farm bill.”

Duda also cited Bronson’s work to help Florida growers expand into new markets. “Commissioner Bronson has worked tirelessly to help our industry stay strong and grow. Since becoming commissioner, he has opened new markets and increased sales of Florida agricultural products by more than $1 billion,” he said.
