Climstar
Climstar, from Syngenta, is a jointless cluster tomato variety with a broad disease resistance package and a strong plant that produces sets of high-quality fruit. This dark red tomato offers high production potential due to consistent setting.
DR0141TX
One of the newest rootstock products from Monsanto Vegetable Seeds’ De Ruiter division is DR0141TX. According to the company, DR0141TX is the strongest rootstock in its portfolio, standing out in hot summer conditions and having the potential for high yields. DR0141TX is said to be getting a lot of attention in regions where there are many high-tech growers who appreciate the benefits of this rootstock. In addition, DR0141TX has proven to give extra strength to a crop during summer while main-taining balance during low-light periods.
DRW 7749
Also from Monsanto’s DeRuiter division is DRW7749, a new beefsteak tomato variety. With strong ribbing, it features old-fashioned looks but can provide very high yields. DRW 7749 has intermediate resistance to powdery mildew.
Foundation
Foundation is a cluster tomato from Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds’ Nunhems brand. This high-yielding tomato is known for being vigorous and is adapted to year-round production. Offering an excellent shelf life, it also can be produced under artificial light. It is suitable for lower greenhouses as it has a compact plant type. The green part of the trusses are very strong and the deep red tomatoes are firm. Foundation also has intermediate resistance to powdery mildew.
DR0719PB
DR0719PB is a new bell pepper in the orange segment from Monsanto’s De Ruiter division. Featuring extended shelf life, it offers consistently large fruit throughout the entire season, even in hot summer conditions. In addition, DR0713PB is versatile in terms of shape, making it ideal for specialty packaging markets. This variety has intermediate resistance to tomato spotted wilt virus.
Harmonia
Harmonia is a new orange sweet bell pepper that combines a strong disease-resistance package with a generative plant. From Syngenta, it features thick-walled fruit with a longer shelf-life throughout the season.
Kasja
Kasja is Nunhems’ high-wire cucumber variety for the North American and Canadian markets. Producing large fruit, it is said to be a top yielding variety with intermediate resistance to powdery mildew. Kasja is adaptable for spring and summer. This dark-green cucumber with a cylindrical shape matures early and features ribbed skin.
Mountie
New from Syngenta is Mountie, a variety that has high yield potential. This long cucumber grows on a strong, open, generative plant. The fruit have a strong rib and a dark-green shiny color.
