NIMITZ

Fluensulfone, the active ingredient in NIMITZ from ADAMA Agricultural Solutions, is not only a nematicide for the control of root-knot nematodes in cucurbits and fruiting vegetables, but also the first new chemical nematicide to be developed in more than 20 years. It is categorized under a new class of chemistry and has a novel mode of action with favorable toxicological and eco-toxicological profiles. NIMITZ data development for EPA focused on supporting a “Caution” claim, which addresses the current limitations on nematicides including: fumigant management plans, 24-hour field monitoring, buffer zones, and restrictive PPE requirements.
