In the carrot department, Maverick has shown a wide range of adaptation in all the carrot producing areas of the U.S. and Canada. It performs well in both mineral and peat soils. Uniform roots are smooth, are free of green shoulder, and have a slight taper with nice tip fill at maturity. This variety will be suitable in all markets where carrots are grown for cello and jumbo uses.
A triploid watermelon from Nunhems, Declaration weighs in between 16 and 18 pounds, is oval in shape, and is adaptable for U.S., Mexico, and Central America. Declaration is a crimson seedless with sweet red flesh and is grown on a very strong, productive plant.
